Lion kills 35-year-old worker in Obasanjo library’s zoo

A 35-year-old zoo worker, Babaji Daule, was killed by a lion at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta on Saturday.

The Ogun State Police confirmed that Daule, who was responsible for the lion's care, failed to secure the enclosure before feeding the animal, allowing the lion to escape and attack him.

The attack resulted in severe injuries to his neck, leading to his death.

The lion was subsequently shot to free Daule.

His body has been taken to Ijaye General Hospital's mortuary.
