President Akufo-Addo has commissioned a new fishing harbor at Jamestown, Greater Accra Region, aiming to reduce reliance on imported fish and create around 4,000 direct and indirect jobs.
The facility includes a cold storage unit, fish processing center, fire and police station, and a crèche.
The project is expected to enhance fish catches, minimize post-harvest losses, and revitalize the lives of the fisherfolk and traders in Jamestown.
Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, appealed for a quota to be allocated for the employment of Ga youth in the operation of the harbor.
